Science Education Programme

The Science Education Programme aims to foster an understanding in young people of the issues faced where science meets policy and public affairs...

Inspired by Project Faraday and Newton’s Apple launch publication ‘A Scientific Vision for the 21st Century’, The Science Education Programme (SEP) aims to create recommendations for policy makers as to how science education in schools can be improved. In addition to this, the programme seeks to create useful resources for teachers on the public policy issues affected and informed by science.

The Programme is in its initial stages, mapping out current UK science education activities; in particular those relating to policy, but it will build upon the work already conducted by science education specialists and organisations such as the Royal Society and the Association for Science Education, so as to avoid duplication.

Details of this first phase will be posted here soon.

Newton's Apple is seeking additional funding for SEP. If you are interested in supporting the programme please send us an email.
